Is it safe to buy a gay porn membership? What to check first

Short answer
Check five things before you pay: a billing company named on the checkout page, HTTPS on the payment form, a price and renewal line you can read, a way to cancel in the terms, and a receipt you keep. On the 65 sites we track, the costliest surprises are renewals, not the sites themselves: two intro offers rebill above the regular monthly price.
- The FTC says HTTPS means the connection is encrypted, not that the site is legitimate. Scammers can encrypt sites too.
- The FTC says paying by credit card best protects you if something goes wrong.
- A named billing company is a good sign. Men.com and its sister sites name Probiller; PeterFever's group names Epoch.
- Read the renewal line. The Gay Wire and Icon Male intro offers rebill above their $29.99 monthly plans.
- Keep the receipt and the cancellation email. You need both for a refund or a dispute.
Five checks before you pay
- A named billing company. Established membership sites usually say who takes the payment. Men.com and its sister sites say they use Probiller; the PeterFever group of sites names Epoch and prints the exact statement line on the join page. Our charge guide lists the biller for every site we track.
- HTTPS on the payment form. The FTC’s online shopping advice says to look for https at the start of the address, then adds the catch: it means the site is encrypted, “but it doesn’t mean it’s a legitimate site. Scammers know how to encrypt sites, too.”
- The amount billed today and what it renews at. A legitimate plan card states both. Men.com, for example, is $8.33/mo on a 12-month plan ($99.99 billed up front), and its join page says the plan rebills every 365 days until cancelled.
- A way to cancel, written down. The Men.com terms list four ways to cancel. Smaller sites usually name the billing agent that handles cancellations in the join page footer. If you can’t find a cancel route before paying, don’t pay.
- Records. The FTC says to keep receipts and emails for online purchases so you can hold a seller to its promises. Screenshot the plan card with its price and renewal wording.
Signs you’re dealing with a real operator
- A 2257 statement. US law, 18 U.S.C. 2257, requires producers to keep records for every performer, including checking an ID for their name and date of birth. Most join pages we read link a 2257 record-keeping statement.
- Published terms and a support page. The Aylo sites each publish Customer Terms of Service with a named controller, refund windows and cancellation steps.
- A company name. Most join pages name the company behind the site or its billing. Our networks guide shows who is behind each site we track.
Where the money usually goes wrong: renewals
Trials and promo prices are where buyers get caught. Every trial we track converts to a paid membership unless you cancel, and two rebill above the site’s own monthly price:

Promo years carry a different risk. Bear Films’ yearly plan is labelled a promo and shows no renewal price, so you can’t know the second-year cost in advance. Our deals page lists every sale price with its renewal wording.
Pay in a way you can dispute
The FTC says paying by credit card “best protects you and your money in case of a scam, or if something else goes wrong.” Other methods can be more discreet but harder to reverse. Aylo’s terms, for example, say refunds on gift cards or crypto happen only if technically feasible. Our payment guide compares the options.
If something goes wrong
