How to get a refund from an adult membership

Short answer
Ask the company that billed you first, in writing, with your cancellation proof. Refunds are usually at the biller's discretion: Aylo's terms for Men.com, Sean Cody and their sister sites take card refund requests within 120 days and review each case, and they don't refund partly used time. If the biller won't fix a real error, dispute it with your card issuer; for credit cards the FTC says your letter should arrive within 60 days of the first bill showing it.
- Refunds are usually discretionary. Aylo's terms review each request case by case and exclude partly used memberships.
- Timing matters. Aylo takes card refund requests within 120 days, and within 90 days for gift cards or crypto.
- CCBill's terms say past recurring fees are not refundable when you end a subscription.
- A chargeback has costs. Aylo's terms say it may prevent future purchases, and CCBill may block your details from its merchants after a fraud claim.
- Keep proof: the cancellation email, the date and any reference number.
First, what kind of charge is it?
The right request depends on why you were charged.
- A renewal you forgot. The plan did what it said. A refund is a favor, so ask quickly and politely.
- A trial that converted. Also as stated, but if the rebill was higher than the site’s normal monthly price, say so.
- A charge after you cancelled. This is the strongest case. Your cancellation email is the evidence.
- A charge you don’t recognize. Find out what it is before anything else; our charge guide matches statement names to sites.
Step 1: ask the biller, in writing
Write to the company that charged your card, not just the site’s chat. Include:
- The email you signed up with and the date and amount of the charge.
- Your cancellation date and confirmation, if you cancelled. Vendo’s FAQ asks for the first 6 and last 4 card digits, your purchase email and any cancellation reference.
- Your member or subscription ID. Epoch tells members to keep their member ID for any contact with billing support.
- What you want: a refund of a specific charge, not “my money back”.
Ask for any add-ons to be cancelled too. Probiller says a charge after cancelling may come from an extra membership package picked at sign-up that is still active.
What the terms allow
Aylo (Men.com, Sean Cody, TwinkPop, Icon Male, Gay Wire). The terms say refunds may be requested by contacting customer support. Card refund requests must be made within 120 days of the original transaction and are reviewed case by case. Gift card or crypto payments can be refunded only if technically feasible, with requests within 90 days. Partly used memberships are not refunded, and an approved refund goes back only to the original payment method.
CCBill. Its consumer terms say past recurring fees are not refundable when you end a subscription.
Other billers decide case by case. Ask anyway, and ask early.

If one of these caught you, say so in your request. You can point out that the regular monthly plan is $29.99 at Gay Wire and $29.99 at Icon Male.
Step 2: dispute it with your card issuer
Only when the biller won’t fix a genuine error. For credit cards, the FTC’s guide to disputing billing errors says your letter should reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent, at the billing-inquiries address. That process covers credit cards and revolving accounts; with a debit card, ask your bank what applies.
Know the trade-offs before you file:
- Aylo’s terms say all chargebacks are investigated and may prevent future purchases with Aylo Billing or the site.
- CCBill’s terms say that after a cancellation or refund request over unauthorized or fraudulent use, it may block your information from use by all CCBill merchants.
Avoid needing one
Cancel a few days before each renewal, keep the confirmation and check the next statement. If you keep cancelling and rejoining, compare plans first: monthly vs yearly shows when the year is cheaper.
