How to choose a gay porn membership in five checks
By GayCompare Editors Published Updated 1 sources
Short answer
Pick what you want to watch first, then compare the amount billed today, not the monthly badge. Check that the exact plan you want includes downloads if you need them, skip intro offers that rebill above the regular price, and know how you will cancel before you pay. Each step below links the ranking or guide that answers it.
- Choose the niche first: twink, bear, Asian, Japanese, amateur, premium studio or a whole network each have their own ranking.
- Compare the bill today. The cheapest yearly bill we track is $90, at Athletic Twinks and Bear Chubs.
- Ten of the 65 join pages make no download claim. Treat that as unknown, not as no.
- Two intro offers rebill above the regular monthly price: Gay Wire's and Icon Male's.
- Find the cancel route before you pay, and put the renewal date in your calendar.
Before paying anything, decide whether a membership is necessary at all: our free vs paid comparison covers that decision without assuming all paid sites have the same benefits. If avoiding recurring charges is essential, read the non-renewing plan checklist before choosing a checkout.
1. Start with what you want to watch
A cheap site you never open is the most expensive one. Pick the niche, then compare within it:
- Twinks: best twink sites, or the cheapest twink sites if price leads.
- Bears and hairy men: best bear and hairy sites.
- Asian: best Asian sites, or Japanese sites for Japan specifically.
- Amateur and casual: best amateur sites.
- Studio production: best premium sites.
- Range, one login: best networks.
- Not sure yet: the main ranking.
Already like one site? Our “sites like” pages compare the closest alternatives to Sean Cody, Men.com, Helix Studios and NakedSword.
2. Compare the bill, not the badge
Join pages lead with a per-month figure, but a yearly plan is one charge up front. The FTC’s shopping advice is to learn the total cost and read the terms of the advertised deal.
Across the 65 sites we track, the median 12-month plan costs $99.99 up front, and the median site’s year beats paying monthly from month 4. If you might leave sooner, pay monthly. Monthly vs yearly has the break-even month for every site, and the price index sorts all of them by cost.
3. Check downloads on the plan you’ll buy
Downloads often depend on the plan, not the site. NakedSword’s year is streaming only, and Helix Studios’ cheaper 3-month promo drops downloads. Several sites cap downloads per 30 days, and many join pages say nothing. Our downloads guide and downloads ranking sort it out.
4. Read the trial’s rebill
Every trial we track turns into a paid membership unless you cancel. What matters is the price it turns into:
| Site | Offer and rebill, as stated | Regular monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Helix Studios | 3-day trial for $4.99 (streaming only), then $21.99 a month. | $34.99 |

If you already know a site, its yearly plan usually beats a trial followed by monthly billing. Our trials page ranks the offers.
5. Know how to cancel before you pay
Find the cancel route in the terms or the join page footer, and note who bills you. Our cancellation guide covers every major biller, and the charge guide tells you which biller each site uses. Put the renewal date in your calendar the day you buy.
Then buy on the right plan
Once you have a site, take its yearly plan if you’ll stay past the break-even month, and check our deals page in case it has a special running.
